Aisha Jallow & Oyin Olalekan

XiR is excited to welcome our next residents, Aisha Jallow and Oyin Olalekan.

Aisha Jallow is a Gambian photographer, creative and urban planner based in Toronto who has built a street and portrait photography portfolio over the years. A key component of her photography practice is capturing the mundane nature of everyday activities and everyday life. Aisha has worked on several personal projects, the most recent and meaningful being a photography series titled “By the Sea” which was based on her visit back to Gambia after Covid-19. 

Oyin Olalekan is a Writer and Creative Producer based in Toronto. She is the writer/director of the short film SUNDAY IS FOR LOVERS and is always reaching for the next story to tell. As a Writer/Director, she’s obsessed with themes of womanhood, tenderness, betrayal and friendships and her storytelling focuses on culture expressed in diaspora.
